Translations from Dutch, English, and Spanish into Brazilian Portugese
Translations are charged by the word in the source text (i.e. the original in Dutch, English, or Spanish)..
I will offer you a quote based on the following:
- Number of translatable words in the source text
Translation software allows me to offer a precise word count.
- File format
Editable material, which can be processed using translation software (CAT tool), allows for faster and more efficient work. This includes preparation of the text while maintaining the original format and style, not to mention more efficient quality controls. Examples of editable file formats are Word (or other word processors) documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel sheets, and editable PDFs. Image files (where words cannot be selected), as in scanned text or handwritten material and hardcopies, requires much more handling time and effort. A surcharge applies in these cases.
I can translate 2,500 words/day on average, but that will strongly depend on the complexity of the text and the required amount of research. Furthermore, I might need to accommodate more projects on the same day, so I prefer flexible deadlines. I can prioritize your tight deadline upon the payment of a surcharge.
Moreover, each client is unique, and even different projects for the same client will probably have their own intricacies that call for different approaches. Therefore, I have a baseline fee but I will tailor my offer to your exact needs, taking into account the value for money and your budget.
Translation is that which transforms everything so that nothing changes.
